All Roads Lead to Thomas Telford Lettings.
The road to Waternish is a truly unique experience. It marks the end of your long and often arduous journey – but the beginning of an experience never to be forgotten. A chance to leave everything behind you. A chance to experience a hidden part of Skye where mythology and reality are fused in time. A romantic enclave of breathtaking landscapes and stunning sunsets.
Slow down to Skye time – past the Fairy bridge on to a single track road and head west towards the setting sun. A glimpse of Loch Bay appears. Onwards over a cattle grid and then gradually as the landscape unfolds the magnitude of Waternish and Loch Bay is revealed. A truly outstanding panorama with views out over Ardmore to the Minch and in the distance the outer Hebrides.
Pass the whitewashed hamlet of Stein planned round a tiny jetty by Thomas Telford. And slowly on towards Hallin where The Old Church stands proud overlooking Lochbay at the corner of the road to Geary. You have reached a part of Skye few will experience. A new journey beckons. We think it will be one which will remain with you for many years to come – and indeed wonder whether the experience was all a dream.

If these walls could talk.
Thomas Telford Lettings takes its name from the prolific Scottish engineer who planned the hamlet of Stein for the British Fisheries Society in 1790 and oversaw the building of The Old Church and adjacent Manse. Over the last two years The Old Church has been painstakingly restored to create something very special.
Contemporary accommodation within a historic setting we believe Telford would be proud of. Externally the Old Church, byre and gardens reflect the original plans but inside awaits a magical combination of contemporary living and eclectic design. Nothing similar exists on Skye.
Staying at the Old Church is not for the faint hearted. Art works, antiques, and interior finishes collected over many years combine to lift the spirit. Its quirky and somewhat unorthodox characteristics are for those looking for something very different.
